How to lose weight...??!!
Right after my post of Losing Weight, I am posting about food...it's not just any food.
It's the BEST PRAWN MEE I've ever tasted.
And I have been craving for almost 2 years, the last time I tasted this bowl of "geik bun" was back in December 2004 when I was on Singapore shopping spree with SF.

Anyway, back to the prawn mee. Why is it soooooo damn good...?
I will not compared to what we get in Malaysia as it's not even worth comparing. They are not in the same league.

The prawn is damn HUGE & there's 3 of them in a small kuali.
The chilli padi is freaking hot! I know Ipoh-mali-punye cannot really take chilli but this cabai burung, it's really hot. Even some Penang fella said it's hot.
They serve the mee with g yau jar, fuiyuh....good man.
It's damn cheap if you don't convert, and if you convert back to RM, it's still reasonable for it.

7 Habits of Highly Recommended Prawn Mee:
1. Take the MRT and stop at Novena station.
2. Follow Exit B. There's a bus stop right in front of the station at road level.
3. Take bus no. 131. Stop at the 3rd stop from start point (Novena bus stop).
4. Look across the road to find Pek Kio Market/Food Centre.
5. Walk into the foodcourt and look for Wah Kee Big Prawn Noodles.
6. Place order for the S$8.00 prawn mee.
7. Get ready cold drink & lots of tissue.

One important thing to remember, they are CLOSED on MONDAY.

I need to lose weight...!!!! FAST !!
I am categorized under OVERWEIGHT as my BMI is 26.5

This site gave me a pretty good idea of how FAT I am.
For my friends who are reading this, please spend a few minutes to visit the site and learn more about yourself.

The site even calculated for me the Peoples Choice Ideal Weight for me is 74 kg.
That's almost 6kg off my belly, my thigh and my fat ass.

Turn Back Time

If only I can turn back time...

After reaching home on Monday night from a 20 hours flight, jetlagged, tired and suffering from PVID (Post Vacation-Induced Depression - my own term for a mental condition that only I suffered, not medically proven though), I downloaded all my pictures from the Italy/England trip to my laptop.

I was damn fucking sure that I got all the pictures in my laptop before I format the memory card.
When I was trying to sort the folders, tiba-tiba I noticed that my '04' folder is empty! And that folder is the one with SF's graduation picture and our time in London. I was searching it everywhere, scan the whole hard disk and FUCK!!! It's not there...

That was when I really wish that I could turn back time and undo everything.
Now, I wasn't so DAMN sure that I have downloaded all the pictures, at least the last card the had the graduation pictures.
Was banging my head and all and have to let SF know about this...on her BD.

Asked DL if there's any way to recover the lost pictures, he said that there's some software that can do that, but not 100% success rate. With the little hope, I tried to scan through the hard disk, but can't find anything...

YL suggested that I tried recover from the memory card, but I don't have a card reader. So have to wait for tomorrow to get the card reader from SF.

After being in a totally-miserable-feel-like-jumping-off-from-building-feeling for almost 24 hours, and with the help of brilliant software, managed to get back at least the graduation pictures. All the pictures for Stonehenge, Hampton Court & London were gone. Now, I don't have to feel so bad, and can live on with only half the guilt for the rest of my life, unless and until I have the ability to turn back time...

I went to the LHDN website to download the e-filling stuff, realized that I have to have a pin to login, I emailed them to request for the pin.
In their website, it's clearly stated that you can request the pin through email.

After 2 days, I received an email but without my pin ! I gave them another few more working days to let them process, I thought to myself, "government mar".
Still I didn't get it, so I called up LHDN.

After the whole phone conversation, they tell me that it will past the deadline to submit if they were to email me the pin. I was like HUH!!?? The guy told me to go the the branch to get the pin and do the e-filling there. STUPID !!! Then, what is the whole damn point of asking people to do e-filling if you still need to go to the LHDN office anyway ??

And they extend the deadline for the e-filling. What more can I say ? (actually a lot more, but don't want to sound like an asshole lar).

The Day I Sold My Baby Away

I saje put that as the title to make it dramatic.
I actually felt heavy hearted to part with my car after it's been with me for 3 years & 7 months.

Memorable moments (regardless good ones or not so good ones):

First got the car in Sept. '02 and drove back from JB to KL.
Smoke gets out from the hood - was overheated and the radiator dried up totally back in Nov. '04 fetching my sister to UTM.
Hit a Proton Waja while reversing out from the parking lot in HUKM. Paid RM500 to fix the Proton Waja.
Got another ticket for breaking red light (I swear I didn't see the red light, those idiotic cops set up the trap on purpose), while on my way to go to the police station to pay for a speeding ticket. End up paying RM500 for so-called rayuan for both tickets.

Besides all the water-seeping-in-from-the-front-passanger-seat-door, the dull red paint of the hood cover and the growing pimples (rust), the car is actually quite reliable. One day, if we meet on the road, I will still give respect to you, JFE 9027.

Finally, I sent her away on 22nd April at about 3.30pm. But I will not regret exchanging the kampung boy for a City kid!

Day 5: Disneyland

Disneyland, the holy grail of all Mickey fans, the place where thousands and thousands of Japanese girls trying to look their cutest when posing with Mickey for pictures, and hours long queue to get a ride of Space Mountain.

Our group arrived before the park open but the whole place was so packed, yan san, yan hoi. And the fact that it’s a weekday really surprised me.

It was said that in Japan, they won’t ask you “Have you been to Disneyland?” Instead, they will ask you “How many times have you been to Disneyland?”
You can see all the girls from children to hot chicks and even the young guys are wearing those Mickey ears on their head. Some even come in a Chip & Dale jumpsuit. From 10am – 4pm, I only managed to try Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion, MicroAdventure! & Space Mountain.

Because it’s the last night in Tokyo, the tour agent arranged for us something grand in Shinjuku. According to them, the full crab course meal, kanidoraku, is very expensive, and very seldom they get tour groups having them, especially such big group. From appetizer to the last course, it’s all crab.

The most memorable was to meet up with Chika (Sonobe) & Nao (Hikino), I haven’t met Nao for almost 5 years. It’s a pleasant surprise to both of them in Tokyo. My memorable visit to Japan, the Land of the Rising Sun, came to an end the following day, but not before I had another bowl of the mouth-watering ramen ! Sayonara, mata ai ma sho (hope to see you again).

Day 4: Tokyo

On the journey to Tokyo, we stopped by Odaiba to visit the Toyota Showroom where Toyoto (or I should really say it’s the Japanese) really show off with their technological superiority.

After that, off to Ginza for lunch. Ginza is the Bukit Bintang equivalent in Tokyo. It has the most expensive price tag for land in the entire Japan which can go up to 20 billion YEN (USD 200 million) per sqm2. I can’t believe it either !
Lunch was yakiniku tabehodai (eat-all-you-can BBQ).

The rest of the day was spent in Asakusa, dinner at Aoi-Marushin, the 1st restaurant in Tokyo and Hard Rock Café in Roppongi Hills.

The tour guide recommended the best ramen in Tokyo, which is just 15 minutes walk from the hotel. Everything about the ramen is special, from the soup, the ramen (noodle), the char siew & the egg (it’s the super nice duck egg yolk). The shop operates from 10.30am – 4.00am, and even at 1am, there’s a queue outside the shop. Find out more about the ramen at http://www.mutekiya.com/.

Day 3: Toyohashi-Hakone-Mt. Fuji-Lake Kawaguchi

We started off from Toyohashi by taking bullet train to Hamamatsu which only took about 14 minutes. It will be a 1 ½ hour journey by bus.

A little introduction about bullet train, it started in year 1964. The bullet in Japan can go up to 280-300km/h (at full speed) and it will only take about 2 hours 45 minutes to get from Osaka to Tokyo, which is about 800km.

However, we only took the train for one stop and that cost us 2,000 YEN.

After more bus ride, we arrive at the Hakone’s National Park – Lake Ashi. We then took a 30 minutes boat ride in Lake Ashi (the depth of the lake is 40m at the deepest point). The view around the lake was fantastic but I was chilled to the bone from the blowing wind.

After the boat ride, the tour went to the Owakudani Valley - Black Egg Valley. They called it the Black Egg Valley because they really do have black eggs there. The mountains at Owakudani Valley were once active volcanoes. Now, the valley have hot spring and sulfurous acid gas coming out from everywhere and sell black eggs there !

Mt. Fuji
Fuji-san stands at 3,776 m tall and last erupted in 1704.
The weather wasn’t fantastic when we were on our way to Fuji-san so I couldn’t see if from far away. The bus got us up to the 4th Station (2,020m above sea level) on Mt. Fuji and the view of the summit covered with snow was magnificent !

Sleep over in a ryokan (guest house - budget hotel)
The tour agency managed to book the whole hotel just for our group and the hotel is next to Lake Kawaguchi. And in the hotel, they have onsen (hot spring) too !
This stay was probably the most culturally-satisfying throughout the whole trip. We sleep on tatami (woven straw mat) with the Japanese futon (mattress), bathe butt-naked at the onsen (too bad this one separates the Male & Female bath), yukata dinner party and sake drinking game with no rules set. Even their bathroom (in the room) is the traditional type, where you sit on a stool and bath with a small towel.

Put it on.

Hold the Right wing and fold it to your body.

Then hold the Left wing and fold it to your body covering the Right wing.

Tie the belt.

It is very important to make sure you fold it Right first followed by Left. The other way round is for the deceased and you don’t want to walk around in the hotel that way.

I think the temperature must have been around 4-5°C that night, the heat of sake wore off, it freezed the hell out. And I slept with the window open and the heater off. Smart.

Day 2: Osaka-Nara-Kyoto-Toyohashi

Day 2: Osaka-Nara-Kyoto-Toyohashi
First destination of the day was to Nara, the old capital of Japan. The journey took 1 ½ hours. In Nara, we visited the Nara Deer Park and Todaiji Temple. The temple is ranked as one of the biggest wooden structure in the world.

Before the Japanese pray in the temple, they will have to wash their hand and mouth to cleanse the bad things away. First, you have to wash the left hand and then followed by the right hand. Finally, scope some water into your mouth and gargle with the water. When worshipping at the shrine or temple, you have to bow twice, make a wish and clap twice and take another bow.

Then, we went to Kyoto (1 ½ hours from Nara) for lunch. Kyoto is famous for their tofu and that’s we had for lunch. The Japanese tofu set lunch with shabu-shabu was fantastic ! Gion, the geisha district is located in Kyoto as well, and there are about 1600 temples spread all over the city.

It started to drizzle and we were heading for a short stop at the Heian Shrine and after that to Kiyomizu Temple.

The temple is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Site and it’s located at the top of a small hill. The temple was built over a cliff. During spring, thousands and thousands of tourists will come for the full bloom sakura. Though during my visit, the sakura trees are left with naked branches, I can imagine how fantastically beautiful it will be when it’s carrying all the sakura. I hope to go back another time for the sakura.

It is also a belief that you will be blessed with good fortune and good health when you drink from the 3 waterfalls in the temple. Of course I went for it, and so happen that I was quite thirsty. I drank from all 3 waterfalls.

Japan trip 5th – 10th March 2006

Day 1: Osaka-Kobe-Osaka

We arrived at Kansai International Airport, Osaka and was then to Ramada Hotel where I’m going to spend my first night in.
A little about Osaka, it is the 2nd most important city in Japan because of its economic importance. And the people in Osaka are extremely proud of themselves. They have their own dialect of Japanese known as the Kansai dialect. Even when speaking to Japanese from other cities, they will remain using the Kansai dialect. For example, Japanese in Tokyo will say “arigatou” for thank you, but Japanese from Osaka will use “okini” instead.

I think Japanese are really hardworking people because even in a hotel, the toilet at the lobby has only 3 urinals and 3 cubicles.
They were at least 10 of us waiting in line to “bomb” Osaka.
How does toilet have anything to do with hardworking ? Then you must have not heard about the Chinese proverb that goes ~ “larn yan dor si liew” (lazy people shit more).

The first destination for the day is to Kobe and the journey took about 45-60 minutes by bus.
Kobe is famous for its sake and the infamous Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake.

We first went to The Hakutsuru Sake Brewery Museum (Hakutsuru means White crane).
The 3 most important elements in making quality sake is THE WATER, THE RICE & THE TEMPERATURE.

The Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake
It was the earthquake in 17th January 1995 (5.46 am) which recorded 7.3 on the Richter scale that took 6433 lives and many more injured. In the earthquake museum, they showed things that you probably expect them to show, but what really impressed me it that after all the disaster and suffering in Kobe, the Japanese has so much of spirits and discipline to restore the city back to normal in just a couple of years.

After the museum, the tour headed for Mt. Rokko. Took the cable car to the top and that’s where I saw REAL snow for the first time in my life !
On the way to Harbourland for our lunch scheduled at 2.30 pm, somehow the bus driver got lost and the journey which is supposed to be 40 minutes, took 2 hours and we only ate lunch at 4.30 pm. The buffet there was really good though.

After dinner, we went to Shinsaibashi (equivalent to Petaling Street) for shopping and then headed for dinner.
There wasn’t much food left for dinner because my bus arrived at the hotel at 9 pm and the buffet closes at 9.30 pm. They even served Kobe beef at the buffet and it taste damn good ! I can eat the whole cow if I have time.

I will not be going to Jacky Cheung's musical show, Snow Wolf Lake.
And I am really pissed with the stupid decision I made earlier.
I decided not to watch the show because they will be playing the Mandarin version. All the songs that I heard since Jacky Cheung first released the show is in Cantonese. I am more comfortable with the Cantonese version.

After some time, only when I found out that this will be the last chance to see him play as Wu Long (Lake Wolf), I started to regret about not buying the ticket.
Now it's too late because the cheapest ticket left are priced at RM490! And the most expensive ones are RM690!

From what I heard on the FM98.8, his future plan will be more on directing the play rather than playing the part himself.
The 2 main female casts will be played by the Nadia Chan and Evonne Hsu. They will be performing this month on the 25-26 at Putra Indoor Stadium in Bukit Jalil.

I am just hoping that someone with the cheaper tickets will not be able to attend and want to sell me the ticket...it's a hopeless hope.

The way you shout at your own teammates, and screaming into the face of Patrick Viera, and the referees too.
Your never-say-die spirit, influence and commitment will be hard to be replaced.
Your 12 1/2 years of obsessive dedication to football & Man U that has won the team every single title there is to win at club level will be remembered FOREVER!

4 days 3 nights in Samui

The trip to Koh Samui came at the eleventh hour. I was there from 20th - 23rd October 2005.

One of my housemate, DL, he got 2 Berjaya Air flight tickets to Samui from a lucky draw and has gotten a friend to go with him. But 4 days before the flight, the friend cannot make it and I'm in for the replacement, and I'm not complaining.

It rained everyday in Samui and we couldn't do much except to go for Thai massage, foot massage, oil massage, Thai massage (again!) and facial massage. We have become their regular customers !

The highlight of the trip was our adventurous journey touring the whole island on motorbike. Despite the downpour and without wearing any helmet, we put utter trust in our THB20 green poncho, donning it, we conquered the island in half a day !

LOST

LOST will definately be one of my all-time favourite TV series. I would say that it's a MUST-WATCH. Reasons why, is simply because:

-the story revolves around 14 strangers stranded on an unknown island, but the most interesting is that each and every character in the show were given equal (almost) opportunity for character development. None were leftout, different characters, multiple personalities, twisted living backgrounds and coincidental incidences of how they ended up on this island.

-it's a mixture of ER, Korean love story, Final Destination, MacGyver (my favourite as well).

-started with 14 main characters but ending with 13 1/2. This show is like The Da Vinci Code, unputdownable. Luckily for me and my housemates, we have the complete Season 1. None of us can really wait to watch the next episode after another, if not for the fact that I need to work the following day, I would not stop till I know what the "monster" in the show is.

Season 2 is on air in U.S. Once again, the suspense continue...

I've Got The POWER !!

I've finally gotten myself a digital camera, after 2-long-year of waiting and deciding and procrastinating. And also due to the fact that I sakit hati to spend my $$.

Presenting new baby, a brand new Canon Powershot S2 IS ! (my preciousss...)

What I really like about this camera is the 12x optical zoom. Before this model, I was really tempted to buy one of the Olympus' with the 10x optical zoom. And also because of it's DIGIC II Imaging Processor, though I don't really know what it does, but all the pictures that I've seen taken with a Canon digital camera looks damn good.

Have been surveying around, e.g MVM, 1U, Low Yat Plaza and finally bought it in Kompleks Pertama. Bargained for a deal that I'm quite happy with, although I think that the price can definately still go lower (I think Kompleks Pertama sell the cheapest sporting goods, digicam & handphones around Klang Valley).

But I still need to get a battery charger (it uses 4 AA size alkaline batteries) with rechargable batteries. Can't wait for my first shootout when I go to Koh Samui this coming Thursday !

Though the song name may sugggest that it could be a song full with vulgarity by LMF or a hip-hop number by Edison Chen, it is not.

It's by Ronald Cheng, in his latest Cantonese album "Before After".
The lyric (in Chinese) is very meaningful. Trying my very best to translate it literally and yet maintaining the meaning.

Care-A-Van

Two weeks ago, I volunteered for community service with my company's community project called Care-A-Van.
Went to Banting on the 4th Sept and to the "orang asli" settlement in Seremban on the 10th.

That was the first time I join Care-A-Van after 2 1/2 years with the company. But it's never too late.

The most interesting of the two was the "orang asli" settlement in Seremban. We reached there about 10.30am and greeted by Tok Patin, something like Ketua Kampung to them lar.
I volunteered to do the blood sugar test and cholesterol test. The overall result of the "orang asli" cholesterol level was really good, could be due to their diet.

But the highlights of my trip this time was that I needed to help this young 18 years old lady with a baby (in hand) to do her blood sugar test. Only being alarmed by one of the volunteer that she is a HIV positive patient.
Initially, my feeling was "indescribable", not that I'm afraid of anything or discriminate her, but it was the first time I met with someone who is HIV positive.
Anyway, nothing big deal happen.

Learnt that she has monthly routine follow-up from Seremban GH. It's such a pity at the age of 18.

I took me so many months to get the pictures up the net and to choose few of my favourites to put it into my blog. Not that I am lazy or anything, I would have done that earlier if the connection speed in my house is as fast whenever I'm "leeching".

Great trip. Seeing with my own eyes the Estadio Santiago Bernebau, hearing about the legendary Don Quixote, tasting the sangria, going for the gypsies Flamenco dance.

In Amsterdam, trying the "space cake", day-trip to the famous Keukenhof and the infamous Red Light District and finding out the price for a full package service for them. Really eye opening.

Ever feel like killing somebody when u're driving in the city?

Like when waiting for some asshole whom are too damn short for cars like Camry, Accord, Harrier etc. to move into a parking bay. They can't even look past the bloody steering wheel...tiu somemore drive so big car.
Or, on ur journey to office, some fucked-up people that doesn't have to work and doesn't give a damn about the unwritten rule, drive on the left lane if u r slow, is on the road having a Sunday drive to Tmn Tasik Perdana.
And my personal favourite, the white-top-black-bottom scarecrow. Instead of easing up the traffic, it will definately become worse.

Honestly, i hope there should be a rule saying that to take a driver license, u have to meet the minimum height. U have a minimum age, so nothing's wrong with a minimum height. Seriously, they can post some danger to themselves and also the other drivers on the road. U need to encounter one to understand what i meant.
For those short people, try driving a Kancil, it's safer for us out there. If u really want to drive a BIG car, i suggest u go home and try Gran Turismo 4 - The Real Driving Simulator. All the car u ever wanted to drive is there, u name it, u got it. U can even drive a Hummer at 10mph !!

For me and people who thinks like me, here's my advice. Try out Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. I just drag those tortoises out from their car and drive away (with their car!). And whenever i see a scarecrow on a bike (their uniform is in blue), i will run them down, and if i have a shotgun, even better, i blow their heads off !
There's nothing to worry, i won't "die" in the game, just need to pay medical bills for hospital stay and all weapons being consficated. And I can do all that over and over again...

Imagine if i dun have a PS2...

Beginning of a Mistake...

You see, when I was small (the correct word to use should be - little, instead of small, I think), I always wanted to be an author... I even enrolled into this stupid, money-cheating, long-distance, money-back-guarantee, sure-success, English writing course from this place called "The Writing School". Bloody long story, anyway, cut the story short, didn't get my money back, and ended up still with my not-so-bombastic English (you would've notice by now).
For those that doesn't notice any grammatical error and doesn't mind the directness of my language, you can probably read on, or MOST IMPORTANTLY, bookmark it for future postings.

Ok. Now some ground rules for my blog.

1. This is a place I let go of my steam, my frustration from dealing with extremely stupid people. So I will use whatever language deemed fit for description of individual, as adjectives, to add spice to the story and as long as I like it.

2. It's not a "on-line 1119 forum".

3. It's just another blog like any other site that your friend owned. If you like it, I'm glad not doing too bad with my mistake. If you don't, thanks for visiting.

4. Don't post bad comment about me, my blog and everything else. I know who you are.

Before I end, I would like to tell you how the hell did I come up with an URL like that - kelikofo - it's the first 2 letters of my name. I think it sounded stupid, and someone actually said it sounds cute. I don't think I can change it anymore.
